Stuart Street Co-op Formation
Join existing resident co-stewards at 1638 Stuart St to establish a long-developing Affordable Housing Co-op in Berkeley. BACLT will provide educational sessions throughout the two-year Co-op formation process as the 8 resident households learn how to become Co-op owners and managers.
APPLICATION PROCESS:
1. Attend an Online Orientation Session (Required): All interested applicants must attend a 1-hour Virtual Orientation Session before they can receive an application. 2. Attend an Open House (Optional): 1638 Stuart Street, Berkeley, CA 94703 on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 from 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM.

Accessibility Information: The property was built in 1912, and a full renovation completed in 2022. There is one wheelchair accessible, ADA unit onsite (occupied).
